I live and breathe being on the water. My passion to share this with others has inspired me to become a proficient angler, teacher of fly-fishing, advocate for new anglers and kids in the sport and supporter of conservation. In 2001 Marty Sheppard (my rod caddy and wonderful husband) introduced me to spey casting, and connecting with steelhead. This has led me down a path of sleeping in garages, wearing leaky waders, becoming a two time distance casting champion, currently holding the record for womens longest cast at 144 feet. together we own Little Creek Outfitters, guiding steelhead trips on Oregon rivers and I work for the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership as the Oregon Field Representative. Never off duty, I love chasing chukar with my Pudelpointer and being a mother to our beautiful daughter Tegan

Throughout the year Walt can be seen swinging a fly most anywhere in North America. During March thru May and again from September thru December, Walt is instructing and offers coached fly fishing trips in the Salmon River Region of upstate New York for salmon, trout and steelhead. From May into late August he is wading the Deerfield and Westfield Rivers of Western Massachusetts for rainbow, brook and brown trout. Travis landed his first Deschutes red-side at age 14 and his first summer steelhead at age 16. His passion for fishing with a fly has taken him all over the country and his wisdom of fishing the western United States surpasses most young men his age.
Having guided the Sandy, Clackamas and the Deschutes Rivers for over 7 years, Travis has learned how to find even the toughest of fish with success, while bringing an infectious energy to the game that will leave you invigorated and inspired.
From a day of chasing wily resident trout to learning in one of his advanced Spey casting classes, your day with this young man will not soon be forgotten. Follow Travis through his blog Steelhead Chaser.

Jay has been sharing his experience through his guiding and his writing.
Jay has been fly fishing the great Lake tributaries for more than 35 years and has been tying flies for most of this time.
Jay has been applying his experience as a guide for the past 20 plus years. Fishing the Lake Ontario tributaries from western New York to the Salmon River from fall to spring.
Along with being an expert in fishing Lake Ontario’s migratory fish, Jay is also an accomplished spey caster and has developed several techniques and fly patterns for fishing the tributaries. A few of his flies are featured in the book ‘Steelhead Guide’ by John Nagy.
Recognized internationally as an outstanding fly caster, Michael was born and raised in Germany and caught his first fish at age six in a small stream in Bavaria. In 1983, at age 12, he first devoted himself entirely to every facet of the sport of fly fishing.
Since 1998, Michael has participated in international shows and conducted single- and double-hand casting workshops around the globe. As a professional fly-fisher, he has guided throughout Europe and the United States. Welcoming new challenges, he continuously hones his skills while – at the same time – coming up with new designs for his own products just as he long did for equipment offered by leading firms in the fly-fishing industry.
Michael is an innovator in all aspects of fly fishing and his years of martial-arts training allowed him to create the Effective Fly Casting Technique, or EFCT, based on natural movement, which is easy to learn – whether for a beginner, novice, or seasoned casting veteran.
Michael’s life is all things fly fishing; he even met his wife Emily at a Fly Fishing Show! But put him in his element – on the waters of the world – and he becomes one with nature, just like when he was six years old in Bavaria.
Don’t miss an opportunity at shows or otherwise to join one of the most respected instructors in fly fishing and casting including all aspects of single-handed and double-handed spey casting and overhead casting.
In 2013, Michael and Mike McFarland teamed up to form a new rod company. Seele Fly Rods (pronounced zay-luh) based in Bellwood, Pennsylvania, USA. Seele offers, worldwide, high-end graphite and fiberglass fly rods, including Spey and switch rods. All Seele fly rods are entirely built and handcrafted, piece-by-piece, in Bellwood.
